Breakthrough Paste
Hole Drilling

Rivcore was engaged to drill a program of angle holes from surface into underground mine levels for paste grouting. We worked closely with mine engineers to ensure that breakthrough drilling was within specified targets. Our versatile tracked rig and skilled drillers were able to operate in tight spaces, private land, working mine sites and complete break through holes between -90 degrees and -25 degrees inclination.

The long-term contract was delivered between 2023 to 2025.

Wangaratta Closed Landfill Monitoring Bores

Rivcore completed full-service coordination, installation and final independent commissioning report and consultant verification for 31 LFG and groundwater monitoring bores at five closed landfill sites across the Rural City of Wangaratta. The subsurface conditions ranged from landfill material, vary hard granite to sedimentary deposits with gravel and sand. The bores ranged in depth from 5m to 150m. The project was delivered in March 2026.

Daylesford Closed Landfill Monitoring Bores

Drilling and installation of LFG monitoring bores at this site presented unique challenges with terrain, access and community. Rivcore operated professionally and overcame site access with the use of tracked equipment.

Yarrawonga Closed Landfill Monitoring Bores

SMEC engaged Rivcore with our light truck mounted rig to install 14 LFG Bores at the closed landfill site.

Exploratory drilling using RAB at Hanson quarry near Melbourne including chip and sample collection and logging drill holes for geologist review.

Groundwater Monitoring Bores and Survey Point Install for New Tailings Dam

Rivcore were engaged to install groundwater monitoring bores and large diameter installs of survey monitoring points on the tailings dam to meet construction and licensing requirements.

Casing Advance for CPT pre collars on Tailings Dam

CPT pre collars using tracked rig and casing advancer as part of a geotechnical investigation.

Costerfield Operations Exploration Geochemical Soil Sampling Surveys

The Geochem sampling programs collectively took over 2,000 samples in state forest in the Costerfield area.  This program involved walk in – walk out sampling in woodland forest vegetation and packing samples and equipment was supported with packing donkey, Galahad. This program was especially close to Ash and Brodie’s heart as it combined their love for the outdoors, geology, hiking and their equine companions. Unsurprisingly, the exploration using a pack donkey was well-received by the community.  The programs were ongoing and delivered between 2023 and 2025 and provided valuable information for the exploration geology team to plan future drilling.

Earth Rod Drilling for CER on Rail Projects

Earth rod drilling for CER at three sites at regional Victorian rail projects for Kelly Electrical.

Earth Rod Drilling at Lactalis Bendigo

Compliance Electrical engaged Rivcore to drill earth rod holes. Trenching was completed prior to drilling. Accuracy was important to drill the hole into the trench as close as possible to the pre-installed conduit.

Airlift and service stock and domestic water bore

The landowners bore was not producing as expected. Rivcore airlifted the bore to clean out sediment in the screened section, monitored drawdown, recharge and made recommendations for the size of pump and where the pump should be installed in the bore to be most efficient.

Groundwater monitoring bores for Murrumbidgee Irrigation

Rivcore began with assisting the Client to complete license applications and then mobilised to the MIA for the drilling and install of deep monitoring bores, followed by handover of bore completion reports.
